A mini-game about Anemone, a young girl whose mother had passed away. Drag her through 5 stages of grief to help her emotionally recover from her loss. Find the angels who could tell her mother’s story and help Anemone relive her most precious memories.

This was originally a capstone project by College of Saint Benilde students (team SirMoonSheep) under adviser Dr. Lapa. The pre-alpha version of this game, which was then only available on PC, won three awards at the Philippine Game Festival 2014 Game On student competition: Best Narrative, Best Art, and Game of the Year. It was also Best Capstone Project in the very first Incendium 2014.

Zenaya is a 10-minute experimental mini-game by Senshi.Labs as a means to test the player’s knowledge about Philippine folklore. Think of this game as a visual riddle that you have to solve.

Story: Zenaya’s physical body has been stolen by a Diwata. To retrieve it, she has to pass through the obstacles that the Diwata throws at her. As you control Zenaya, weave your way through puzzles and mythical creatures lurking in the dark by switching to her temporary corporeal form and back.

Senshi Turns One: Our Journey, Our Culture

To be honest, I never really thought Senshi would ever happen. And I did blog about the domain staying dormant for 7 years before I finally found a use for it. But here we are, May 8, 2014 was when Senshi.Labs was officially registered. A year later, we now have 4 games under our name.

It All Began with a Rejection

In December 2012, I left my producer post at Anino Games but I had also just received my PhD, which meant that I could go back to part-time teaching. Thing is, I also did not want to leave the game development industry completely, so I sought to enter an organization that could allow me to cultivate my love for education at the same time. There was only one game dev company (whose name will remain undisclosed) back then that I was interested in, despite a lot of offers elsewhere.
